Here is a list of some self-care activities to try:
- Do some journaling
- Declutter 3 things from your home
- Take a nap
- Read a book
- Drink a glass of water
…OR do all of these items every day.
If you don’t journal then consider doing a Gratitude Journal where you write down each day 3 things you are grateful for.
Keep a box or clear bag in a closet to add in items to declutter until you have enough to donate. As soon as I finish a book, it goes in there. If I purchase new clothes, then more have to leave then I purchased.
For naps try to keep them between 20-60 min as otherwise you may find yourself too groggy. One thing I do is if I know it will be dark when I wake up, I leave my bedside lamp on to help me wake up.
If you don’t like reading books, then listen to one on Audible or Chirp or even Libby (or your local library system one). I like to do this when folding laundry or working on a puzzle.
As for water, ideally you want to drink half your body weight in ounces. So, if you weigh 176 lbs then you would need 88 ounces or 11 glasses of water each day. If this seems crazy to you just start with adding on a glass before each meal.
