Keep a record of any major purchases for your home.

• Did you purchase new windows or a new appliance?
• Did you buy a new furnace or get new carpeting?

Keep these records in a file marked “Home Renovations” (or large manila envelope if you don’t have a filing cabinet).

Also, be sure to keep a note of paint colours/brand, when purchased and for what room.

When you are ready to sell your home, it is easy to pull out the file to show to your realtor and check any warranty dates. Cheers!
